Screening of the documentary ‘Arangayanam’ was held Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Ranjani Hall, 15th Street, Nanganallur, organised on the 8th memorial day of Mr. S.V. Ramani, a well-known writer, artist and philanthropist of Nanganallur.
Before the screening, a felicitation ceremony took place. Mr. Ganesh was honoured on behalf of S.V. Ramani Music & Arts Academy.
Television fame artiste, Mr. T.V. Varadarajan, honoured Mr. Bombay Kannan, with a shawl.
Mrs. Saroj Ramani, wife of Mr. S.V. Ramani, was also honoured with a shawl by Ponniyin Selvan and Friends, who presented the documentary.
Many speakers shared their thoughts and memories about Mr. Ramani, speaking about his service, kind nature and contributions to society. His son, Mr. V. Murali, also addressed the gathering and thanked everyone for their presence and support.
The documentary, narrated and detailed by Mr. Bombay Kannan, was very touching and easy to understand. It beautifully explained the divine journey of the processional deity of Lord Ranganatha from Srirangam during the Muslim invasion and back to Srirangam, and kept the audience fully absorbed.
Despite the heavy rain, the hall was full, showing the strong support and interest of the attendees. After the screening, prasadam was distributed to everyone
