The Nanganallur Maha Periyava Satsangam organised a special nama sankeerthanam programme Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Ranjani Hall, No. 7, 15th Street, Nanganallur. The event was conducted with devotion by Cuddalore Sri Gopi Bhagavathar and his troupe.
The nama sankeerthanam, held from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, saw the beautiful presentation of ‘Sri Bodhendral Charithram’.
In addition to singing, the artistes also enacted the role of acharyas by wearing acharyal costumes, which helped the audience clearly understand the story and its message.
The presentation was well-appreciated by the devotees for its clarity, devotion and traditional approach. At the end of the programme, Mr. Ganesh, a Nanganallurean realtor, spoke and mentioned that in earlier times, nama sankeerthanam was performed only by Vaidikas. He expressed his happiness that Cuddalore Sri Gopi Bhagavathar and his troupe were Vaidikas and thanked them for accepting at short notice to conduct the programme.
The audience, who filled the hall, remained till the end and took part in the programme with great devotion.
