On the occasion of Pongal, Madipakkam MSS Trust organised a kolam competition for the first time. The event received good response from the public. Though more than 100+ people registered, 34 participants actively took part in the competition.
The organisers said the event was a grand success and expressed confidence that many more participants would join next year. All participants were given certificates, and prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be distributed during the Pongal celebrations on January 18.
Pongal celebration will be held on January 18 at the Madipakkam bus terminus. The event will start at 3 pm, with registrations opening at 2.45 pm. As part of the celebrations, fun games will be organised for all age groups, along with exciting prizes for the winners. It promises to be a joyful evening filled with festivity and togetherness, said Mr. Saravanakumar, president of MSS Trust, along with his team.
In addition, MSS Trust will organise a MSS Walkathon – Walk for a Greener and Cleaner Environment, on January 25. The walkathon will begin at 6 am, starting from Madipakkam lake and ending at Puzhuthivakkam lake.
The assembly point will be at Madipakkam lake south end, near the Perumal temple. The trust has invited residents to participate and support the cause of a clean and green environment.
