Nanganallur witnessed a colourful and energetic Pongal celebration as the Sunday Fitness Group organised a grand ethnic walk at Lakshmi Nagar Ground.
Morning walks, usually meant for fitness, turned special when members and their families walked together wearing traditional attire, creating a lively and joyful festive atmosphere.
The ethnic walk beautifully highlighted the message that fitness and tradition can go hand in hand. Participants of all age groups took part with enthusiasm.
The celebrations continued with traditional Pongal games, energetic dance performances, and a rangoli competition, which added colour and fun to the event and strengthened community bonding.
Zone 12 chairman, Mr. N. Chandran, attended the programme and appreciated the initiative. He praised the Sunday Fitness Group for promoting a healthy lifestyle while also preserving and celebrating cultural values.
The event was initiated and organised by Ms. Neethu, a member of the fitness group, with full support from Ms. Sri Vidya, convenor of the Sunday Fitness Group, and Subedar Major Ananda Sayanam (Retd), Indian Army.
Their efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the celebration, making it a memorable Pongal event for the community.
