Celebrating from a wheelchair

Residents and welfare association members of Nanganallur
proudly organised the national flag unfurling ceremony on 48th
Street, Nanganallur, on January 26, 2026, on the occasion of
the 77th Republic Day.
Dr. Ravi, Superintendent of Medicine, IMCOPS Adyar, unfurled
the national flag and addressed the gathering. In his speech, he
spoke about the greatness of India’s democratic system and
the values of the Constitution.
Adding a special touch to the event, Mr. Chandrasekar of 39th
Street, a patriotic octogenarian, participated in the function with
great enthusiasm in his wheelchair, inspiring everyone present.
At the end of the ceremony, tiffin packets were distributed to
the poor, downtrodden, orphans and others to mark the
occasion.
