Nanganallur Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Samajam (NSTSS) conducted the Sri Thyaga Brahma Utsavam 2026 at Ranjani Hall, Nanganallur, Chennai.

The 2-day event was held on January 31 and February 1 and was received with great enthusiasm by music lovers.

The celebrations began on Saturday evening with a soulful mandolin concert by Sri U.P. Raju and Smt. U. Nagamani, accompanied by Madipakkam Sri P. Suresh on the mridangam and Madipakkam Sri A. Murali on the ghatam.

On Sunday morning, the program started with puja, followed by Thyagaraja Upadesa Saaram and a vocal concert by Smt. Seetha Narayanan and her disciples. They were ably accompanied by Chromepet Sri S. Sivaraman on the violin and Trichur Sri K. Sudev on the mridangam.

The highlight of the event was the rendering of Pancharatna Kritis, where many vidwans and vidhushis participated together. Along with them, Nanganallureans also actively took part, singing in unison and experiencing the true spirit of Thyagaraja Aradhana.

The utsavam concluded with the distribution of maha prasadam.
