The 5th year of Arubathu Moovar Peruvizha of Sri Thiru
Neelakandeswarar Temple has been taking place at Naalvar Iraipani
Manram, Chennai – 117. The temple festival began February 8, 2026,
with special pujas and rituals.
During the past few days, abhishekams, alankarams, devotional singing,
and religious discourses were held.
A grand temple procession featuring Arubathu Moovar (63 Saivite
Nayanmars) was also conducted, and a large number of devotees
participated with great devotion and enthusiasm.
The beautifully decorated pictures of the saints were taken in a
procession through the streets and it attracted many residents, devotees
and Sivanadiyars to offer prayers.
Today, Sunday night, February 15, Maha Sivarathri will be celebrated in
a very special manner at the temple. Special abhishekams and pujas will
be performed throughout the night. The pujas are scheduled from 1st
kaala puja 9 pm to 11 pm, 2nd kaala puja 11 pm to 1 am, 3rd kaala puj 1
am to 3 am, and 4th kaala puja 3 am to 5 am.
Naalvar Iraipani Mandram expressed heartfelt thanks to the volunteers
of Madipakkam Social Service (MSS) Trust for their valuable support
and service during the festival and procession. Their dedicated
involvement helped in the smooth and successful conduct of the events,
it said.
