On the occasion of Maha Sivarathri, Naadhabrahmam Isai
Natya Kalanchiyam organised a 12-hour continuous special
music programme, titled ‘Sivan Rathriyil Sivan Geethangal’, at
Sudharshan Kalyana Mahal, Nanganallur.
The programme was held from 6 pm till 6 am and was
conducted in a grand and devotional manner.
The event was inaugurated by Justice C. Saravanan, judge of
the Madras High Court. On this special occasion, he presented
the prestigious ‘Naadha Padhiga Sevaka’ award to Kutralam
Subramanian Odhuvar in recognition of his dedicated service in
rendering Thirumurai and devotional songs.
The evening began with a soulful rendering of Panniru
Thirumurai by awardee Kutralam Subramanian Odhuvar. This
was followed by a beautiful dance drama, ‘Siva Magimai’,
presented by the students of Premalaya Natya Niketan under
the guidance of guru, Smt. Latha Aravindan.
Devotional fervour continued through the night with Siva Nama
Sankeerthanam by Sri Vanjyam Sri Gurujikrubha Mandali, West
Mambalam, led by Sri Murali Bhagavathar and troupe.
Several talented artistes, including Sri Abhishek, Smt. Sowmiya
Raj, Junior Sai Samarth Raj, Sri Sai Sharan, Dr. D.
Badrinarayanan, Sri N. Subramanian of Mannargudi, Smt.
Sruthi S. Bhat, Kum. Srilakshmi S. Bhatt and Nochur Sri
Nagaraj offered devotional music in different sessions until
early morning.
Devotees participated throughout the night and experienced a
spiritually uplifting Sivarathri celebration filled with music and
devotion.
