The 42nd year annual celebrations and 179th Sathguru Sri
Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival, organised by SASTRAS-BPNN
Trust, Nanganallur, were conducted in a grand and devotional
manner on February 13 and 14, 2026, at Balaji Nagar,
Nanganallur.
The 2-day festival witnessed the participation of many
renowned vidwans and vidhushis.
The inaugural function was presided over by Dr. N. Kamakodi,
MD & CEO of City Union Bank. The inauguration and prize
distribution were carried out by Sri G. Mohan, managing
director of Bhuvaneswari Constructions.
On the first day, the vocal concert by Priya Sisters –
Kalaimamani Shanmukha Priya and Kalaimamani Hari Priya –
was the main highlight. Their soulful rendering received wide
appreciation from the audience. They were ably accompanied
by Sri H.N. Bhaskar on the violin, Delhi Sri S. Sairam on the
mridangam and Sri B.S. Purushotham on the kanjira. The
concert created a divine atmosphere and was enjoyed by
music-lovers in large numbers.
On the second and last day, the programme began with
unchavirthi in the early morning, followed by special pooja. The
Pancharatna Kritis were rendered in unison by participating
vidwans and vidhushis, offering a fitting tribute to Saint
Thyagaraja. The group rendition was devotional and uplifting.
Music concerts continued thereafter, and the celebrations
concluded with Anjaneya utsavam at night.
Devotees and rasikas attended the festival in large numbers.
The organisers expressed their happiness over the successful

conduct of the event and thanked all the artistes, sponsors,
volunteers and devotees for their wholehearted support. The
aradhana festival ended on a spiritually fulfilling note.
