Elders want a commission for their welfare

On behalf of the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of
Tamil Nadu (FOSCATN), Mr. V. Rama Rao, president, and Mr.
T.N. Srinivasan, treasurer, along with Mr. Sankar, treasurer of
Senior Citizen Forum, Nanganallur, handed over a
memorandum to the Tamil Nadu government.
In the memorandum, they requested the government to form an
Elders Commission by bringing in a special legislation at the
earliest. They said such a commission would help protect the
rights and welfare of senior citizens across the state.
The memorandum was submitted during their general meeting
held at Nanganallur. Mrs. N.V.N. Somu Kanimozhi, Member of
Parliament, attended the meeting as a special invitee.
MSME Minister, Mr. T.M. Anbarasan, and zone 12 chairman,
Mr. N. Chandran, were also present.
