The 13th blood donation camp, organised by online NGOgreen
greenNanganallur in association with VHS Blood Bank was
conducted successfully at Thenpothigai Yoga Studio, 3rd Main
Road, Nanganallur.
The camp received an overwhelming response from residents
and volunteers.
This time, more than 100 enthusiastic Nanganallureans came
forward to donate blood. A total of 79 units of blood was
collected to support children affected by thalassemia. The
organisers expressed the confidence that every unit collected
will reach the truly needy through the VHS Blood Bank.
On the same day, several other social activities were also
carried out by #greenNanganallur. As part of ‘Pagirndhu Unn’
week 161 and 162, over 50 dedicated sanitation workers were
served a hearty and soul-warming breakfast. Buttermilk was
also offered to more than 100 passers-by. The event spread
happiness and reminded everyone that small acts of kindness
can create a big impact in society.
Over the weekend, the NGO members and volunteers also
planted 10 new saplings in the locality. Seeking more support
from Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) the team expressed
the hope that the authorities will take extra care in nurturing the
saplings in the coming days.
greenNanganallur stated that they are not a typical NGO that
collects funds to run multiple projects. It is a self-organised
community of people united by a single goal – to do good for
society. The team said they wish to expand this circle and
invited more residents to join and participate actively in
meaningful community service.
The organisers thanked each and every one who contributed in
any way. They said every individual’s participation is priceless.
The involvement of elderly volunteers was especially inspiring
and motivating. The entire event concluded successfully with
strong community support and a shared commitment to
continue serving society.
