A new 33/11 KV electricity sub-station has recently been
opened in Nanganallur, zone 12, ward 167, to strengthen
power supply in the area. The facility has been established by
the Tamil Nadu electricity board TANGEDCO, under the
Alandur division.
The new sub-station was inaugurated February 26, 2026, at a
cost of Rs. 7.91 crore. TANGEDCO officials and others were
present during the inauguration ceremony.
The sub-station was inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin
through video-conference along with other schemes.
Ward 167 Councillor, Mrs. Durga Devi Natarajan was present in
Nanganallur during the unveiling of the plaque.
With the opening of this new 33/11 KV sub-station, the
electricity distribution network in Nanganallur and nearby
localities is expected to improve.
Officials said the facility will help provide better voltage stability
and reduce power interruptions for residents.
Local residents welcomed the new sub-station and expressed
happiness that it will support the increasing electricity needs of
the growing neighbourhood.
