The annual, Panguni Brahmotsavam of Dharmalingeswarar
Temple, Nanganallur, has commenced with great devotion and
traditional fervour.
The festival began Sunday, March 22, 2026, and will conclude
on April 1, drawing large numbers of devotees from the nearby
areas.
On the first day, a grand Vinayagar procession on Mushika
vahanam was conducted. This was followed by the
Chandraprabha vahanam on March 23 and the Bootha
vahanam (Boothan-Boothagi) on March 24, showcasing rich
temple traditions.
A highlight of the festival was the Adhikara Nandi Sevai on
March 26, which witnessed a huge gathering of devotees who
participated with deep devotion. The celebrations continue with
Kailasa vahanam on March 27 and yanai (elephant) vahanam
on March 28.
Today, March 29, the much-awaited car festival procession is
scheduled in the morning, around 7 am, where the deity will be
taken in a grand chariot procession through the streets.
In the evening, around 6.30 pm, Pancha Moorthy
mahabhishekam will be performed, followed by Vedic chanting
(Gana parayanam).
Further, on March 30, Kudhirai vahanam procession will take
place at night, and on March 31, Karpaga Vruksha vahanam
will be held.
The Brahmotsavam will conclude on April 1 with the sacred
theerthavari in the morning, followed by the grand
thirukalyanam (celestial wedding) in the evening between 5.30
pm and 7.30 pm.
Temple authorities have invited all devotees and local residents
to participate in the remaining events and receive the blessings
of the Lord.
