Chithra Pournami celebrations were conducted in a grand and
devotional manner at Sri Karpaga Vinayagar Sri Pandurangan
Saradhambal Temple Saturday, May 2, 2026.
As part of the celebrations, 108 sumangali puja, one dampathi
puja, one kanya puja and one vatu puja were performed with
great devotion and spiritual fervour. This was followed by Maha
Chandi homa yagnam along with poornahuthi in the homam.
During the function, Smt. Raji Ramakrishnan from Shanthi
Nagar Second Street distributed a part of one lakh turmeric
packets (laksham manjal) to sumangalis, and many devotees
participated and received the blessings.
On May 1 evening, Sri Saradhambal was beautifully decorated
with flowers during the oonjal seva and blessed the devotees.
Later, at 7 pm, the processional deity of Sri Saradhambal was
taken in a grand procession around the temple streets. The
procession was accompanied by devotional bhajans performed
by the Adambakkam Saradha Mahila Bhajan Mandali group,
creating a divine atmosphere for the devotees and residents.
