The theppotsavam of Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar Temple,
located on 2nd Main Road, Nanganallur, was conducted in a
grand and devotional manner Monday, March 2, 2026, which
was Maasi 18 as per the Tamil calendar.
The one-day theppam festival took place at the
Panachiyamman Tank on 4th Main Road, Nanganallur. This
was the first time a theppam festival was conducted in this tank,
which brought great joy to devotees and local residents.
A large number of devotees gathered to witness the special
event and offered their prayers with devotion. The entire area
around the tank was filled with a festive atmosphere.
MSME Minister, Mr. T.M. Anbarasan, attended the ceremony
and also went around on the theppam along with zone 12
chairman, Mr. N. Chandran, and ward secretary, Mr. Natarajan.
Special mangala vaadhiyam (traditional music) was arranged
on a stage set up at one corner of the tank, adding to the
spiritual atmosphere of the event. Devotees from across
Nanganallur gathered in large numbers to witness the festival.
Due to the huge crowd of devotees, traffic congestion was seen
on 4th Main Road and surrounding streets. The entire locality
was filled with a festive and devotional mood, making the first-
ever theppam festival at the Nanganallur tank a memorable
experience for residents and devotees.
