Online community #greenNanganallur continues its efforts to
increase greenery in and around Nanganallur through its
regular sapling plantation activities.
Though the group had planned to carry out tree and sapling
planting every week, the activities could not be continued
strictly as per the weekly count due to various reasons.
However, the members have continued their efforts wherever
they receive support and suitable places are available.
As part of their recent activity, members of #greenNanganallur
planted saplings along 2nd Main Road, including an area in
front of Maruthi Dental Clinic. The activity was carried out with
the aim of improving the green cover in the locality.
So far, the NGO has planted more than 2,000 saplings in
different parts of the neighbourhood. Apart from planting new
saplings, the group also takes efforts to maintain several of the
trees and plants they have planted.
The members are also taking steps to protect the saplings by
putting up fences and other protective arrangements wherever
required. These efforts help the young plants grow safely
without being damaged by vehicles or other activities.
The members of #greenNanganallur have been carrying out
these activities using their own time and resources. They
continue their efforts to create a greener and healthier
Nanganallur.
