The 47th year Chitra Pournami festival at Sri Lakshmi
Hayavadana Perumal Temple, located on 2nd Main Road,
Nanganallur, was concluded in a grand manner May 1, 2026.
The celebrations began early with the Perumal procession at 6
am. The return procession took place around 10 am.
Following this, a Hayagriva Mahatmyam discourse was held
between 10.30 am and 11.30 am. Later, at 12 Noon, a special
alankara thirumanjanam was performed for the deity.
In the evening, the thiruveedhi ula – procession – was also
conducted in a grand manner. Many devotees gathered
throughout the day and had darshan of the Lord.
During the morning and evening processions, residents of the
temple streets had the opportunity to receive darshan right at
their doorsteps, as the procession passed through.
Utsavar Sridhara Perumal along with Sri Devi and Bhoodevi gave darshan to devotees in a
special and beautiful alankaram. Devotees were delighted to witness the grand decoration
and received divine blessings.
The festival was organised with the support of Sri Paatham
Thangigal Sangam. The temple administration and the Sri
Paatham Thangigal Sangam expressed happiness over the
large participation of devotees.
