Residents and commuters using 1st Main Road in Nanganallur
are now expecting early road re-laying work after the sewage
pipeline replacement project in the area was completed earlier.
Though the underground sewage works have already been
completed on many stretches, several portions of the road are
still in a damaged condition. Potholes, uneven surfaces and
loose concrete stones make travel uncomfortable for motorists
and pedestrians. During the recent summer rains, muddy
patches and rough surfaces further added to the
inconvenience.
Residents, however, appreciated the sewage improvement
work, saying it was an important step for the long-term benefit
of the locality and would help avoid future sewage-related
problems.
They also expressed hope that the authorities would soon
restore the road properly and provide a smooth and safe riding
experience for the public.
First Main Road is considered one of the busiest and most
important roads in Nanganallur. Many banks, shops, clinics,
hospitals and commercial establishments are located along this
stretch. The road is also frequently used by commuters coming
from Adambakkam and Madipakkam to enter Nanganallur.
Mr. Bharadwaj, a resident of 1st Main Road, said people
understand the present administrative situation, including
election-related activities and the formation of the new
government. However, he mentioned that completing the road
re-laying work as soon as possible would greatly improve public
safety and daily travel convenience.
Mr. Parthasarathy from Nanganallur and Ms. Neha, a
commuter from Adambakkam, also shared that residents are
patiently co-operating and are hopeful that the road restoration
work will be completed soon for the benefit of all commuters.
