Metro rail project work along Jawaharlal Nehru Salai is moving
towards the final stage between Thillaiganga Nagar subway
and Velachery railway station. This important stretch is part of
the Metro connectivity project linking Madipakkam –
Medavakkam Main Road to Alandur.
Near the Adambakkam and Thillaiganga Nagar areas, most of
the giant Metro pillars and track structures have already been
completed. A few pillar works are still pending towards the
Thillaiganga Nagar side, but the overall construction has now
started showing the full shape of the upcoming Metro corridor.
Recently, during the summer rain, the Metro bridge stretch
between Puzhudhivakkam and Nanganallur on the main road
offered a beautiful sight for commuters and residents. The dark
rain clouds in the background, along with the massive Metro
pillars and elevated track, created a grand and striking view. In
the middle, the existing MRTS railway bridge and the busy
roadway below added to the scene, making the location look
like a modern urban landscape.
Many residents and daily commuters have been appreciating
the rapid development of the Metro project and are eagerly
waiting for the completion of the work, which is expected to
improve connectivity and reduce travel time in the southern
parts of Chennai.
