Caring for the underprivileged with kidney diseases

The Rotary Club of Nanganallur Elite, Rotary District 3234,
donated a dialysis machine worth ₹7.40 lakh to Malar Hospital,
Kumbakonam, Thursday, May 28, 2026. The machine was
handed over during a special function held at the hospital.
The project was funded through the club’s fundraising activities
and its popular cultural event, ‘Elite Singer of TN – Season 4’.
The dialysis machine will help patients suffering from kidney-
related illnesses and provide affordable treatment to needy and
underprivileged people in and around Kumbakonam.
The event was attended by several senior Rotary members.
Chief guest, Mr. J. Leone, district governor, RID 2981, along
with Mr. P.S. Ramesh Babu, Mr. J. Sridhar, and Mr. AKS S.
Balaji, participated and appreciated the service initiative
Rotary Club of Nanganallur Elite president, Mr. V.S.
Gopalakrishnan, welcomed the gathering and thanked all the
donors, dignitaries and members for their support.
The club also expressed special thanks to Mr. J. Sridhar for his
guidance and encouragement in making the project a success.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Sowrirajan and Mr. Dr.
Kannan Azhagirisamy, whose dedicated efforts helped in the
successful completion of the project.

The function was attended by the president, secretary, and
members of the Rotary Club of Kumbakonam East, along with
Rotary members and well-wishers from across the district.
