Nehru Government Boys Higher Secondary School,
Nanganallur, has once again proved its commitment to
education by achieving an impressive 97% pass percentage in
the class 10 board examination.
Students and parents shared that the teachers and
headmistress, Mrs. Premalatha, work tirelessly for the welfare
of the students.
Special coaching classes are conducted in the morning, before
school hours, and continue in the evening after school, often up
to 7 or 7.30 pm. These extra classes help students prepare
confidently for their board examinations.
One unique aspect of the school’s efforts is the care shown
towards students’ well-being. Understanding that students may
feel hungry during long study hours, the school provides
healthy and nutritious snacks. This helps students stay focused
on their studies while their health is also taken care of.
Mrs. Premalatha highlighted the valuable support received from
the school’s alumni. She mentioned that former students such
as Mr. G.D. Sampath and Major (retd) V. Narayanan have been
extending their support to the school in various ways.

She also proudly noted that Supreme Court judge, Mr.
Mahadevan, is an alumnus of the institution. His presence at
important school functions and his motivational speeches
greatly inspire students and staff alike, she said.
The headmistress appreciated the support extended by HCL,
which has been helping the school through various initiatives.
She emphasised that the combined efforts of teachers, alumni,
well-wishers and organisations were creating a positive
learning environment for students.
The teachers and staff care for the students almost like their
own children. The students, in turn, show great respect,
affection and dedication towards their teachers. Such a
nurturing atmosphere undoubtedly helps students build a bright
future and succeed in their careers.
The success of Nehru Government Boys Higher Secondary
School is a reminder that teaching is not merely a profession
but a passion. The dedication displayed by the teachers once
again reflects the timeless saying, ‘Matha, Pitha, Guru, Deivam’
— Mother, Father, Teacher, and then God. When teachers
serve as second parents to their students, they help shape a
stronger, brighter, and more innovative India for the future.
