Walkathon, meditation to mark Yoga Day

As part of International Yoga Day 2026 celebrations, the Heartfulness Institute, in association with the Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Spatikha, will organise a peace walkathon and Yoga meditation program in Nanganallur Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The event aims to spread the message of love, unity, harmony, inner peace and mental wellness among the public. The organisers have invited residents, students, families, and wellness enthusiasts to participate in the program.

The walkathon will be held from 7 am to 8 am, starting from the 32 Feet Anjaneya temple area in Nanganallur. Following the walk, a special Yoga and meditation session will be conducted at Ranjani Hall, 15th Street, Nanganallur, by certified Heartfulness trainers.

The program is being organised to encourage healthy lifestyle practices through Yoga and Heartfulness meditation while creating awareness about physical health, mental clarity, emotional well-being and spiritual balance.

International Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide every year on June 21. The day was established by the United Nations in 2014 to recognise the universal appeal and benefits of Yoga, an ancient Indian tradition that promotes holistic well-being.

Across the globe, Yoga Day is observed through yoga sessions, awareness programs, and wellness activities that inspire people to lead healthier and more harmonious lives.
