A large-scale cleaning drive was carried out by Urbaser
Sumeet in ward 167, Nanganallur, covering 40th Street and
41st Street, Thursday, June 11, 2026. The sanitation staff
worked extensively to clean the streets and surrounding areas.
As part of the drive, a vacant plot located on 40th Street was
also cleaned thoroughly. Accumulated waste, debris and
unwanted materials were removed, leaving the area neat and
tidy. Residents appreciated the efforts taken by the sanitation
workers to improve the cleanliness of the neighbourhood.
Urbaser Sumeet, in partnership with Greater Chennai
Corporation (GCC), regularly conducts such cleaning activities
across the city. These special drives focus on removing bulk
waste, clearing debris, cleaning vacant lands and maintaining
public spaces to improve hygiene and the overall environment.
Residents are encouraged to support these initiatives by
properly segregating household waste into wet, dry and
hazardous categories and by cooperating with sanitation
workers during waste collection.
People who require a special clean-up drive in their area or
wish to report bulk garbage, garden waste, or other sanitation
issues can contact the Urbaser Sumeet grievance redressal
centre at 1800 571 2069.

The successful cleaning drive on 40th and 41st streets has
brought a cleaner and healthier environment for local residents
and stands as another step towards keeping Nanganallur clean
and green.
