|S VENKATESHWARAN|The 21st annual general body meeting of the All India BSNL Pensioners Welfare Association, Chennai South District, was held at Vathsala Thirumana Mandapam, Puzhuthivakkam, Chennai, Saturday, June 20.The meeting began with a welcome address by Mr. V. RamaRao, district vice-president, who highlighted the importance of unity among pensioners. District president, Mr. D. Gopalakrishnan, presided and presented a detailed report on various pension-related issues affecting BSNL retirees. He explained the association’s continuous efforts and legal battle for the welfare of pensioners. He elaborated on important demands, including pension revision, implementation of pending benefits, and the need to safeguard the interests of retired BSNL employees through legal and organisational efforts. Mrs. Kalyani Ragunathan, district secretary, presented the annual report and highlighted the activities and achievements of the association during the year. Mrs. S. Anuradha, district secretary, Chennai Telecom Project Circle, stressed the importance of unity and collective efforts inprotecting the interests of pensioners. Mr. S. Syed Kalesh, district treasurer, presented the financial report. The members also paid homage to late S. Sampathkumar, remembering his service and contribution to the association. A condolence resolution was passed and members observed a moment of silence in his memory. The members actively participated in the discussions and put forward valuable suggestions and viewpoints. Various resolutions concerning pensioners’ welfare, legal issues and organisational strengthening were adopted unanimously.
