Peace walkathon marks Yoga Day

The Peace Walkathon and International Yoga Day Celebration
organised jointly by Heartfulness Institute, Nanganallur, and the
Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Spatikha was held Saturday,
June 20, 2026, in Nanganallur.
More than 100 people enthusiastically participated in the Peace
Walkathon, which began from the 32 Feet Anjaneya Temple
and concluded at Ranjani Hall on 15th Street, Nanganallur. The
event was conducted with the theme ‘Peace Walk for Inner
Harmony’ and aimed to promote peace, wellness and a healthy
lifestyle through Yoga and meditation.
The main Yoga Day celebration and meditation session were
held at Ranjani Hall after the walkathon. Participants actively
took part in the Yoga and meditation practices conducted by
Heartfulness trainers.
Mr. Venkatadhri, founder of Shree TV, was the chief guest. The
guests of honour included Mrs. Devi Mathimaran, district
chairperson, Inner Wheel District 323, and writer Mr. J.K. Sivan.
All of them delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the
importance of inner peace, Yoga, meditation and community
service.
Mrs. Ananthi Kumar of Heartfulness Institute coordinated the
event and welcomed the gathering. During the function, she

felicitated several supporters who contributed to the success of
the programme. She especially appreciated Mr. R.V.
Ramanujan for his strong support and encouragement in
making the event a grand success.
Mrs. Ananthi Kumaran expressed her gratitude to all the
members of the Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Spatikha and the
volunteers of Heartfulness Institute for their dedicated efforts
and active participation.
