Mr. Rama Rao, president of the All India Senior Citizen Bureau,
and Mr. Sethu Madhavan, president of the Nanganallur Senior
Citizen Association, were guests of honour, among others, at
the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026 programme,
organised by HattaKatta Tech Pvt. Ltd., an AI-powered
preventive care platform for senior citizens, Monday, June 15,
2026.
The awareness campaign, held at Indira Nagar, Adyar, was
conducted in collaboration with volunteers from The Dementia
Care Foundation (TDCF), Jayam Home Health Care, Pasumai
Iyakkam Velachery and Rotary Club of Velachery.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from senior citizens,
community volunteers and students. The guests of honour
included Prof. Ravishankar, founder of Donut House
International, Mr. Rama Rao and Mr. Sethu Madhavan.
Mrs. Gayathri from TDCF, Mr. Kumararaja of Pasumai
Iyakkam, and representatives from Rotary Club of Velachery
were also present.
A special highlight of the programme was the elder abuse
prevention pledge taken by the students, Scouts, and Guides of
Hindu Senior Secondary School, Adyar. The students pledged
to respect, protect and support senior citizens and contribute
towards their well-being.
Speaking at the event, the dignitaries stressed the importance
of recognising, preventing and reporting all forms of elder
abuse, including physical, emotional, financial and neglect-
related abuse. They urged families, communities, institutions
and young people to take an active role in ensuring the dignity,
safety and welfare of elderly citizens.
The awareness campaign aimed to educate the public and
promote a culture of respect, care and compassion for senior
citizens. The organisers reinforced the message that every
elderly person deserves to live with dignity, security and
happiness.
The programme was organised by HattaKatta Tech Pvt. Ltd. as
part of its commitment to supporting and protecting senior
citizens through innovative preventive care solutions.
