A cleanliness awareness rally was organised at Nehru
Government Boys Higher Secondary School Thursday, July 9,
2026, to create awareness about the importance of maintaining
a clean environment.
The rally was flagged off by Alandur MLA, Mr. M. Harish, in the
presence of the national south zone manager of Hindustan
Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Mr. R. Natarajan.
More than 300 students from the school’s NCC, JRC, Scouts &
Guides, and NGC units enthusiastically participated in the rally.
The event was conducted with security support from the
Pazhavanthangal police station.
Principal, Mrs. Premalatha, and teachers of the school, senior
officials from Hindustan Petroleum, and members of the public
also took part in the programme.
The rally aimed to highlight the importance of a clean
environment and to spread awareness among the public about
keeping their surroundings clean. The initiative was well-
received and appreciated by everyone who attended it.
