Nanganallur witnessed a meaningful act of service as the
Rotary Club of Nanganallur Elite donated six rooms for the new
Geriatric Ward under construction at Hindu Mission Health
Services (HMHS). The donation ceremony was held Tuesday,
June 30, 2026, on the hospital premises.
The six rooms were sponsored by members of the club. The
event was attended by noted Rotarian, Mr. A.K.S. Abhirami
Ramanathan, Rotary district governor, Mr. Vinod Saraogi, and
Rotarian, Mr. N.S. Saravanan, Rotary Club of Nanganallur Elite
president, Mr. Gopalakrishnan, and several other Rotarians.
On the occasion, Mr. Gopalakrishnan also donated Rs. 2.50
lakh towards the Geriatric Ward project.
Mr. V. Natarajan, joint secretary of HMHS, explained the details
and importance of the upcoming Geriatric Ward, while Mrs.
Usha Krishnamoorthy, secretary of HMHS, proposed a vote of
thanks.
Earlier, on June 28, 2026, HMHS participated in the National
Polio Eradication Campaign. Around 150 children received
polio drops at the hospital. The vaccination drive was carried
out by Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) zonal health
officials, ensuring that children in the locality were protected
against polio.
