Sparisa darisanam at Adambakkam Pandurangan temple

Devotees are preparing to celebrate Ashada Sudha Sukla
Sayana Ekadasi with great devotion Saturday, July 25, 2026, at
the Sri Karpaga Vinayagar Sri Pandurangan Sri Saradambal
temple in Adambakkam, following the traditions observed at the
famous Pandarpur temple of Sri Pandurangan.
As part of the celebrations, a series of spiritual programmes
has been arranged. On July 23, from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, Smt.
Ramya Padmanabhan, disciple of Smt. Vishakha Hari, will
deliver a sangeetha upanyasam on ‘Pandurangan Leelai’.
On July 24, from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, Sivasri Natarajan
Shyamsundar will present ‘Dhanya Dhanya’ from Bhavartha
Abhanga Pravachan.
The main celebrations will be held Monday, July 27. A special
abhishekam for the main deities of Sri Rukmini samedha Sri
Pandurangan will begin at 7.30 am, followed by alankaram and
maha deeparadhanai. Devotional and spiritual programmes will
also be conducted on the stage opposite the Sri Pandurangan
shrine from 8 am to 6 pm.
A special feature of the festival is the Sparisa Dharisanam,
which will be open to devotees from 10 am to 6 pm. During this
time, devotees will be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum
and worship Sri Rukmini-Sri Pandurangan.

Temple authorities have requested men attending Sparisa
Dharisanam to wear traditional dhoti and towel, while women
should wear a saree or chudidhar with a dupatta.
Those not following the dress code will not be permitted to
enter the sanctum sanctorum but may have darshan of the
processional deity in the temple.
In the evening, at 6.30 pm, the utsavamurthis of Sri Rukmini-Sri
Pandurangan will be taken in Garuda vahana procession
around the streets surrounding the temple.
The procession will be accompanied by kolattam, mangala
vadhyam, and bhajans by Adambakkam Sarada Mahila
Mandali.
