… as national leaders line up

The 80th Indian Independence Day was celebrated by theRotary Club of Chennai Beehives and BM Hospital jointlySaturday, August 15, 2026. The programme was held underthe leadership of Dr. Thiagarajan, managing director of BMHospital.Colonel R. Varadarajulu, a retired officer who had served in theIndian Artillery Regiment, hoisted the national flag. He laterdistributed sweets to the public and participants.A special attraction of the celebration was the participation ofnurses and hospital staff dressed as national leaders andpersonalities, including Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi,Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Velu Nachiyar andBharata Mata.Their colourful and meaningful participation added a specialspirit to the Independence Day celebrations and impressedeveryone present at the event.
