The Ramnagar Association celebrated the 80th Indian
Independence Day with patriotic spirit Saturday, August 15,
- The programme began with the singing of the Tamil Thai
Vazhthu by Mrs. Parimala Rajendran.
The full-length Vande Mataram was then played, with the
participants joining in chorus. Mr. S. Sivakumaran, executive
committee member, welcomed the gathering and introduced
the chief guest, Mr. G. Seetharaman, executive committee
member.
Mr. Seetharaman hoisted the national flag and delivered an
inspiring speech highlighting the importance of nationalism and
the significance of Independence Day.
Around 30 participants joined together to sing the national
anthem. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks
proposed by Mr. P. Kannan, treasurer of the association.
Sweets were distributed to the gathering at the end of the
celebration.
