Trees being trimmed ahead of monsoon

As a precaution ahead of the monsoon, tree trimming work is
being carried out at several places in Nanganallur. The work is
being done to prevent weak or overgrown branches from
breaking and falling on electricity lines during windy and rainy
conditions.
In the picture, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) workers can
be seen using a hydraulic tree-cutting machine to remove
branches safely.
As the work involves branches close to electricity lines, power
supply was temporarily stopped in the areas for a few hours as
a safety measure. This was done to avoid any electrical
accident during the tree-trimming operation.
The power supply was restored after the work was completed
and the area was made safe.
Residents have welcomed the precautionary steps, particularly
during the rainy season, to prevent tree-related incidents and
power disruptions.
