The 80th Indian Independence Day was celebrated with
patriotic spirit at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Meenambakkam,
Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Eminent and multifaceted social worker, Mr. N.V. Sampath,
was the chief guest. He hoisted the national flag, followed by a
march past by the NCC cadets and Bharat Scouts.
Mr. Viswanathan, the principal of the school, welcomed the
chief guest, parents and staff members.
Students presented various cultural programmes as part of the
celebrations. Their performances reflected patriotism and the
spirit of national unity and added colour to the Independence
Day programme.
Mr. Sampath was honoured with a shawl and a memento on
the occasion.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by
Ms. Meenakshi Radhakrishnan.
