The Federation of Nanganallur Welfare Associations (FNWA)
has taken an initiative to check the quality of Metrowater
supplied to residents of Nanganallur.
On Monday, August 24, 2026, as part of the initiative,
federation members assembled at the venue at 5.30 pm.
Federation advisor, Mr. V. Rama Rao, explained the details and
usage of the TDS (total dissolved solids) meter and handed
over the instrument to the vice-president, Mr. Mahendranath,
and joint secretary, Mr. G. Ravindran, for use by federation
members.
Members also tested samples of Metrowater brought from their
respective homes using the new instrument.
The TDS meter is currently with federation treasurer, Mr. S.
Kothandaraman. Residents and federation members who wish
to check their water quality can collect the instrument from him,
test their water sample and return the meter after use.
The initiative follows several complaints received from residents
regarding the quality of Metrowater supplied in the area. The
federation has already taken up the concerns with Metrowater
officials.
The TDS meter will help residents get a basic indication of the
dissolved solids present in the water that is supplied. The
federation said the initiative was aimed at creating awareness
among residents and monitoring the quality of water supplied in
the neighbourhood.
