Onam was celebrated in a grand manner at the Nanganallur
Guruvayoorappan Temple Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Devotees and Malayalee families from Nanganallur and nearby
areas gathered in large numbers to offer prayers to Lord
Guruvayoorappan on the auspicious occasion.
The temple was beautifully decorated with colourful flowers,
kuthu vilakkus and pookalams. The thinnai around the shrine
was specially decorated with lamps and flower arrangements,
giving the temple a divine and festive appearance.
Special pujas were performed in the morning with great
devotion. The beautiful decorations and glowing lamps added
to the festive atmosphere, attracting the admiration of the
devotees.
As part of the celebrations, traditional Onam Sadhya
annadhanam was provided to all devotees. People came
together to share the festive meal and celebrate the spirit of
Onam with happiness and harmony.
The celebrations created a devotional and joyful atmosphere at
the temple and brought together the community through prayer,
tradition and togetherness, said Mr. Balaji, joint secretary of the
temple.
