The monthly Amavasya Srichakra Navavarana Puja is being
conducted at Sarvamangala Sri Rajarajeswari Ashram,
Thillaiganga Nagar, near Pazhavanthangal station. The puja is
considered one of the most sacred forms of worship of
Goddess Ambal and is performed with traditional procedures
and rituals.
Srichakra Navavarana Puja is an elaborate and spiritually
significant puja that requires proper learning, guidance and
initiation from a qualified teacher. The greatness of this puja
has also been beautifully described by Sri Muthuswamy
Dikshitar in his famous Navavarana Kirtanais.
As part of the puja, special offerings are made to the Tithi Nitya
Devi of the day, along with Maha Ganapati, Maha Vishnu,
Parameswara, Shyamala and Varahi.
Amavasya is one of the 5 important days known as Pancha
Parva days, on which the Navavarana Puja is considered
especially significant. The other four days are Pournami,
Krishna Ashtami, Sivarathri and the beginning of the month.
The puja is believed to bring peace, wellness and happiness
and is performed for the well-being of all. Devotees can also
arrange for the puja on special occasions such as birthdays,
wedding anniversaries and other important days.
The Amavasya Srichakra Navavarana Puja is conducted every
amavasya from 6 pm to 8 pm at Sarvamangala Sri
Rajarajeswari Ashram.
