Vinayaka Chathurthi is 10-day festival at Adambakkamtemple

Sri Vinayaka Chathurthi is being celebrated as a 10-day festival
at Sri Karpaga Vinayagar Sri Pandurangan Sri Saradhambal
Temple from September 5 to 14, 2026.
As part of the celebrations, Ganapathi homam followed by
special abhishekam to the presiding deity, Sri Karpaga
Vinayagar, is performed every morning throughout the festival
days.
A series of special spiritual discourses by Sri K. Ganapathi
Subramanian will be held at 6.30 pm from September 5 to 8.
The topics include ‘Anaimuganin Aarupadai Veedugal’ on
September 5, ‘Pillaiyar Perumai’ on September 6, ‘Vinai
Theerpan Vinayagan’ on September 7 and ‘Naivedya Nayagan’
on September 8.
From September 9 to 13, samashti laksharchanai will be
performed at 6.30 pm as part of the celebrations.
The festival also features different Ganapathi homams and
special alankarams every day. On September 5, Pushti
Ganapathi homam will be performed and Sri Karpaga
Vinayagar alankaram arranged. Durga Ganapathi homam and

Sri Maha Bharatham Ezhuthal will take place on September 6,
followed by Sankatahara Ganapathi homam and Sri Sakthi
Ganapathi alankaram on September 7.
On September 8, Santhana Ganapathi homam and a special
offering to Sri Parvathi Vinayagar are scheduled. Vijaya
Ganapathi homam and Vinayagar Mangani Peruthal will be
held on September 9. On September 10, Selva Vidya
Ganapathi homam will be performed and Vancha Kalpalatha
Ganapathy alankaram arranged.
The celebrations will continue with Lakshmi Ganapathi homam
and Sri Siddhi Budhi alankaram on September 11, Ranahara
Ganapathi homam and Gajamukha Asaravatham alankaram on
September 12, and Veera Ganapathi homam and Sri Uthishta
Ganapathi alankaram on September 13.
The final day, September 14, will feature Sri Maha Ganapathi
homam and Mooshika vahanam.
Throughout the 10-day festival, the processional deity of Sri
Karpaga Vinayagar will be decorated in different forms and
bless devotees during the oonjal seva.
On the evening of September 14, the processional deity will be
decorated with flowers and taken on the Mooshika vahanam
through the extended streets surrounding the temple.
The procession will be accompanied by nadaswaram, kollattam
by Sri Krishna Kolattam Group, and bhajans by Sri
Saradhambal Mahila Bhajan Mandali, Adambakkam.
