Nanganallur’s young boxing talent, Alugoju Chathurya Sri, a
class VII G student of AM Jain School, Meenambakkam, has
bagged the gold medal in the wnder-14 (30–32 kg) category at
the CBSE South Zone Boxing Tournament 2026-27.
Chathurya Sri is the daughter of Anilkumar Alugoju and
Chamundeswari Alugoju. Along with her studies, she has been
giving equal importance to her passion for boxing. She trains
for three hours every day, from 5.30 am to 7 am and again from
5.30 pm to 7 pm.
Her latest achievement comes after a strong performance last
year, when she won a bronze in the under-14 (28–30 kg)
category at the CBSE National Boxing Championship at SD
Senior Secondary School, Mahendragarh, Haryana.
This year, she improved her performance and secured the
south zone gold medal, earning an opportunity to represent
south zone, comprising Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra
Pradesh and Puducherry, at the CBSE National Boxing
Championship.
The national championship is scheduled to be held at RKSD
Public School, Kaithal, Haryana, from October 14 to 20, 2026.

Chathurya Sri has already resumed intensive training with the
aim of performing well at the national level.
Her progress has also been supported by her coach Dharma
Master, who trains her at a local boxing club near Nehru
Colony. His regular guidance and training have helped her
develop her skills and confidence in the sport.
Managing academics along with three hours of daily boxing
practice, Chathurya Sri has set an example of discipline and
dedication. Her South Region gold has brought pride to her
school, family and the Nanganallur neighbourhood.
