Chennai Primary School celebrated its annual day on the
evening of Friday, March 13, 2026. The event was conducted in
a grand manner with the participation of students, teachers,
and special guests.
The chief guests for the function were 164th ward circle
secretary, Mr. Jesudhas, former student of the school and
present advocate and school management committee
educationist, Mr. K. Vijayakumar, 164th ward assistant
engineer, Mrs. Manonmani, and school accountant, Mrs.
Valarmathi.
The programme began with a welcome address by
headmistress, Mrs. N. Sophia Esther Rani Bai. She welcomed
the chief guests by honouring them with shawls.
Later, the special guests also honoured the headmistress,
teachers, kindergarten teachers, kindergarten assistants, noon-
meal staff, sanitation workers, breakfast provider, and the
daytime watchman with shawls as a mark of respect.
Kindergarten (LKG & UKG) students Pooja and Deeksha
performed a beautiful welcome dance as a start to the cultural
programmes. Kindergarten students Lokesh and Krishna
recited the Thirukkural.

The LKG and UKG students also performed yogasanas, which
were very impressive, followed by a colorful dance
performance.
Students of classes 1 and 2 performed a lively dance that was
well appreciated. The class 3 students presented a wonderful
folk dance. Class 4 students performed a dance for the song
‘Mannu Veesum Vasanaiyum Makkaloda Yosanaiyum’, which
received great applause. Student Tarun Sharwin also recited
the Thirukkural.
The dances performed by class 5 students were highly
appreciated by the audience. Among them, the dance for the
song ‘Kondadu Kondadu’ was very special.
At the end of the programme, Mr. Jesudhas distributed prizes
to the students. Mr. Vijayakumar presented mementos, and
Mrs. Manonmani distributed geometry boxes along with pens,
pencils, scales and erasers to all the participating students.
