Rotary Club of Nanganallur Elite organised a humanitarian
healthcare initiative by donating 3,500 boxes of cancer
treatment medicines, worth around Rs. 12 lakh, to terminally-ill
cancer patients at Srimatha Cancer Care, Saturday, May 9.
Each medicine box, valued at Rs. 349, was distributed to
support economically weaker cancer patients undergoing
treatment and palliative care. The initiative aimed to provide
timely medical support, comfort and hope to patients and their
families.
This noble project was made possible through the generous
contributions of Dr. Kannan Azhagirisamy, Mr. G. Srinivasan,
and Mr. Sakthivel.
The event was held in the presence of club district governor,
Mr. A.K.S. Vinod Saraogi of Rotary International District 3234,
along with celebrity guest Bosskey, renowned cricketer and
stand-up comedian, who entertained the gathering with his
humorous and inspiring speech.
During the event, Mr. Saraogi honoured the donors for their
generous contribution and appreciated the efforts of the Rotary
Club of Nanganallur Elite for organising such a meaningful
service project benefiting deserving patients at Srimatha
Cancer Care. He also appreciated trustee, Ms. Vijayashree
Mahadevan, and the dedicated staff for their continuous care
and service towards terminally-ill cancer patients.
Club members and Anns and Annettes of the club actively
participated in the initiative, reflecting the club’s commitment
towards healthcare, compassion and community welfare.

The project leadership team included Mr. V.S. Gopalakrishnan
– president, Ms. Meena Sathish – secretary, Mr. T. Nagarajan –
treasurer, Dr. Kannan Azhagirisamy – director, community
service health, and Prof. Sundararajan – chairman, projects &
events.
