The Madipakkam Social Service (MSS) Trust successfully completedits 445th week of community service activities Sunday, June 7, 2026,with volunteers carrying out environmental improvement works overtwo days.On Saturday, June 6, the team conducted tree pruning work alongLake View Road inside the fenced area during the morning hours.The activity helped improve the growth and maintenance of the treesin the locality.The trust expressed its gratitude to Mr. Gopal and Mr. Narasimhan forsponsoring vada and tea for all the volunteers. The trust also thankedMr. Mohan for generously distributing mangoes from his farm to theentire team.The trust further appreciated five students from SRM College whojoined the service activity and supported the volunteers.On Sunday, June 7, the 2nd day of the 445th week service, volunteerscarried out watering work for around 700 trees along the MRTSstretch and the road from Kaiveli to Kamakshi Hospital.The activity was undertaken to ensure proper care and growth of thetrees.The trust thanked Mrs. Srigayatri for sponsoring tea and snacks for allthe volunteers who participated in the tree-watering activity.The trust highlighted that its volunteers dedicate two hours everyweek towards community service, amounting to 104 hours each yearand 1,040 hours over 10 years.Through continuous efforts, the organization has created two mini-forests around ponds, two green belts around lakes, several roadsidegreen corridors and developed greenery in nearly 50 residential areas.
The trust has also planted saplings along four major roads, besides
carrying out six months of tree planting work and six months of
maintenance activities.
Over the years, MSS Trust has also cleaned and maintained 49
temples with the support of nearly 80 volunteers, including children,
women, senior citizens and other community members.
The trust continues to spread the message that the nation is everyone’s
responsibility and that true change comes not by merely pointing out
shortcomings, but by actively working to remove them. The
volunteers remain committed to serving society and protecting the
environment through their sustained efforts.
