Senior citizens in Nanganallur received good news as a new
senior citizens bus pass issuance centre was inaugurated at
the Nanganallur New Bus Stand (Hindu Colony bus stand)
Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
The centre was inaugurated by Alandur MLA Harish. The new
facility will make it easier for senior citizens to apply for and
receive their bus passes without having to travel to other
locations.
Members of various residents welfare associations (RWAs) and
commuters attended the inauguration and welcomed the
initiative. They appreciated the opening of the new centre,
saying it would greatly benefit elderly residents in the area.
The bus tokens will be distributed in Nanganallur from July 1 to July 10; after that the users
will have to collect it from Adambakkam, Velacherry or Guindy bus depots, says the board
set up at the entrance to the Nanganallur bus stand.
The initiative was made possible through the efforts of Mr. V.
Rama Rao, president of the Federation of Senior Citizen
Associations of Tamil Nadu, and Mr. P.V. Inbasekaran, joint
secretary of the Federation of Nanganallur Welfare
Associations.
Their efforts helped bring this useful service closer to the
people of Nanganallur.
