Students of Brilliant Matriculation Higher Secondary School,
Madipakkam, performed well and won several prizes in the
Alandur zonal level sports events.
Alandur zonal and block level chess tournament was held at
the school Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
Around 190 students from 16 schools participated in the
tournament that was inaugurated by school correspondent, Dr.
D. Subramaniam.
The Alandur zonal level tennikoit event for girls was held at the
school on July 15. Students from six schools participated in the
event.
Brilliant school students won in various under-14 zonal level
sports events and qualified for the district level competitions. In
tennikoit, Shreejith S.M. of VIII A won the boys singles event.
Shreejith S.M. and Kavin T of VIII A won the boys doubles
event.
In the girls category, Poovika H. of IX A won the singles event,
while Poovika H. of IX A and Kalkiswari of VI B won the
doubles event.
In the under-17 chess event, Sudharshana B. won for the
school.
The students also won medals in field events. Muthu Kumaran
of IX A won a silver medal in discus throw, while Vishnu S of IX
A won a bronze medal. In javelin throw, Muthu Kumaran of IX A
and Roma H of XI A won bronze medals.
The school management congratulated all the participants and
winners. Physical education teacher, Mr. Arul, was also
appreciated for his guidance and training.
