Aavani Avittam rituals were conducted at Adambakkam
Sankara Kendra as part of the annual Upakarma observance.
The Rig Veda Upakarma was conducted at the Kendra
Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The Yajur Veda Upakarma was conducted Thursday, August
27, in the morning and continued till Noon. The rituals were
organised in two batches to ensure smooth participation of
devotees.
A large number of Yajur Veda followers gathered at the Kendra
to take part in the annual spiritual event. More than 300
devotees participated in the two batches.
The first batch had over 100 participants, while more than 200
devotees attended the second batch.
Sastrigals guided the participants through the traditional rituals
and the chanting of prescribed mantras. Devotees changed
their sacred thread as per custom and took part in the
ceremonies with devotion.
A sacred homam was also performed as part of the Upakarma
rituals. The Vedic chants and homam created a spiritual
atmosphere at the Kendra.
The event was conducted in an organised manner, allowing
devotees to observe the traditional Aavani Avittam rituals
peacefully.
