Soulful rendering of Pancharatna Kritis

| S VENKATESHWARAN |

Sri Krishna Fine Arts Society organised Thyagaraja Aradhana
Sunday, January 25, 2026, where music lovers and members
gathered to enjoy an evening filled with bhakti and classical
music.
The programme began with a soulful group rendition of the
Pancharatna Kritis by Dr. Salem Gayathri and her disciples.
This was followed by a full-length Carnatic music concert by Dr.
Salem Gayathri. Her performance beautifully blended
scholarship, emotion and classicism. She presented several
rare compositions of Saint Thyagaraja, which were greatly
appreciated by the rasikas. One of the highlights of the concert
was the powerful rendition of ‘Panturithi Kolu’, sung with
excellent manodharma and classical depth, earning loud
applause from the audience.
She was well supported on the violin by Sri Vijay and Nellai Sri
Murali on the mridangam and Madipakkam Murali on the ghatam.
