Stormwater drain work progresses in TNGO Colony

Stormwater drain (SWD) construction work has started to build
a new drain from TNGO Colony 3rd Street to TNGO Colony 1st
Street in Nanganallur. This project is being carried out to
prevent rainwater from stagnating during heavy rains.
After completing similar stormwater drain works in many nearby
areas, the focus has now come to TNGO Colony and its
surrounding streets. Residents said in most parts of
Nanganallur, the work has already been completed, and only
their area had been waiting for a long time.
People in the area have welcomed the efforts taken to improve
the drainage system. However, they have also shared concerns
about limited access between 3rd Street and 1st Street, as the
main entrance is almost blocked due to the construction work.
Though the work is causing temporary inconvenience, many
residents feel that it is necessary to solve long-standing
rainwater problems. “We were worried that if the work did not
start before the elections, it might get delayed again. But now it
has started and is almost in the final stage. This gives us hope,”
said a resident of TNGO Colony.
