Nanganallur gets AC ladies gym

A Greater Chennai Corporation’s new, air-conditioned, ladies’
gym was inaugurated on February 26 evening at Independence
Day Park, Nanganallur. The gym was officially opened by
MSME Minister, Mr. T.M. Anbarasan.
The project was completed at a cost of Rs. 49.98 lakh. The
modern facility is equipped with quality fitness equipment and
necessary amenities exclusively for women.
During the inauguration, 12th zone chairman, Mr. N. Chandran,
167th ward Councillor, Mrs. Durga Devi Natarajan, 167 ward
AE, Mr. Rajesh, ward secretary, Mr. J. Natarajan, office-bearers
of Federation of Nanganallur Welfare Associations and local
residents were present.
Along with the gym, a new water fountain has also been
constructed inside the park. An attractive ‘I Love Nanganallur’
light letter board has been installed near the fountain. This new
addition has become a major attraction, especially for children
and selfie-lovers who are happily taking pictures there.
Residents appreciated the initiative and expressed happiness
that a dedicated fitness centre for women has now been made

available in the park, and expressed their joy and said the new
developments have added more beauty to the park.
