80 units of blood collected at camp

| S VENKATESHWARAN |

The 14th blood donation camp, organised by NGO green Nanganallur, in association with VHS Blood Bank, was successfully conducted at Maruthi Mini Hall, 32nd Street,
Thillaiganga Nagar, Nanganallur, Sunday, June 21.
The camp received encouraging response from the public, and
80 units of blood were collected. The donated blood will help
meet the regular blood requirements of children suffering from
thalassemia and other patients in need of life-saving blood
transfusions.
The organisers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the 80,
selfless, blood donors who came forward to donate blood and
give hope to many lives. They also thanked the dedicated
volunteers who worked tirelessly to arrange the venue and
ensure the smooth conduct of the camp.
Appreciation was also extended to all the sponsors,
contributors and supporters whose generous assistance made
the event a grand success.
Despite the rainy weather, the camp achieved the collection of
80 units of blood, which the organisers described as a
remarkable achievement. A few willing donors could not donate
because their haemoglobin levels did not meet the required
medical standards. The organisers requested them not to feel
disappointed, as these checks are essential for donor safety,

and encouraged them to maintain good health and participate
in the next blood donation camp.
The #greenNanganallur team said every unit of blood collected
through the camp would bring hope to thalassemia-affected
children, who depend on regular blood transfusions to lead
healthy lives. The NGO reaffirmed its commitment to creating
awareness about voluntary blood donation and serving society
through such humanitarian initiatives.
The successful completion of the 14th blood donation camp by green Nanganallur is another milestone in its dedicated service to society. By collecting 80 units of blood for the benefit of
children affected by thalassemia and other needy patients, the
organisation has once again proved that while awareness
inspires people, timely action saves lives.
The commitment of the donors, volunteers and supporters
deserves wholehearted appreciation.
