A ‘hiss’ story in Nanganallur

A tense and an unusual incident took place on 1st Main Road,
Nanganallur, near the Indian Oil petrol pump Thursday, August
6, around 1.30 pm, when a snake was found hiding inside a
moving motorcycle.
The incident attracted a large crowd, with many people
gathering around the bike. The bike seat had been removed
and placed on the road, while a few people carefully shook the
motorcycle in an attempt to locate the snake. Others watched
the scene with fear and curiosity.
Bike owner, Mr. Sabari, a resident of 24th Street, Nanganallur,
said he was returning home from Medavakkam when, after
reaching near the petrol pump, he suddenly heard a hissing
sound from the front side of his bike. To his surprise, he noticed
a small snake coming out near the headlight and raising its
head towards him.
Realising the danger, Mr. Sabari calmly stopped the bike and
safely got down without causing any accident or injury to
himself or others. He believed that the snake had entered the
motorcycle while it was parked earlier at another place.
His presence of mind and quick action were appreciated by the
public, as he handled the unexpected situation safely.
For nearly 30 to 45 minutes, local residents and passers-by
tried to remove the snake, which had hidden deep inside the

motorcycle beneath the fuel tank. After a long struggle, the
snake finally came out and was safely caught by the public.
After the incident, Mr. Sabari sent his motorcycle for servicing
to ensure that no other hidden reptiles remained inside.
The unexpected incident created thrilling moments mixed with
tension and excitement for everyone present, turning an
ordinary evening into a memorable, albeit scary, experience.
